Long time no post! This is gonna be all about my day at coachella on friday with some chitty iphone pix embedded...
it was fucking amazing. So let me try to recall how this went.. woke up around 11, marc had just picked up the 2 chicks from the train that were carpooling with us. smoked some bong loads and headed off to the 2.5 hour drive through the desert. The drive was beautiful, twisting and turning through mountains and passage ways. we get to the last street before coachella and traffig is up the assssss, we wait for like... 15 minutes, i take a blue whale, marc takes a yellow snail, and the 2 girls take their blue pokeballs. we wait about 15-20 more minutes before we find parking that was only like a 5-10 minute walk from the gate. i had been texting mikey (j) to try and meet up with him at coachella and he ends up walking RIGHT behind me as we head to the front gate! b good 2 the univer, the universe will b good 2 u.
my body is already pumping massive adrenaline and the endorphins begin to flood my mind. it's about 3:35 as we walk in the gate with 2 more pills, about 2 grams, and a fake cigarette. the steve aokis started at 330 so we walked straight there, splitting away from the carpool girls and mikey+company. i saw sir stevie oki at sxsw with MSTRKRFT but the crowd for this tent was about 15x the size. beats from pillowface were blasting as well as a few other good tracks as the steve aoki jumps into the crowd on an inflatable boat. my buddy marc begins to overheat and says he has to leave to get water. i stay. steve aoki finishes off with a bang (helicopter mix?)
then Felix da Housecat comes on within 10 minutes. this set is fucking amazing too. he starts off with some mgmt-kids and makes his way into nirvana and a yyys-zero remix. this was p much amazing.
after felix i leave to try and find marc, he's nowhere to be found and so i watch white lies because crystal castles remixed white lies hahah it was a pretty good set considering i've never listened to them before. i get a little tired and go look for marc again, can't find him. i've been waiting/looking for like 45 minutes now. i find mikey and his friends again sitting down near the back of the tent and i join them. we smoke some nugs and i take my yellow snail like 10 minutes before crystal castles starts. marc finds us and we walk over to crystal castles but marc says he's not going in and then i loose mikey and his friends again...
i go in alone and begin to chat it up with some pplz. i see alice glass on stage in a black and white dress and she looks sooooooooooo damn cute. then i go 'oh shit is that alice glass?' and this UBER scene looking dude with hilar hair and a basketball jersey or something is like ya that is her. he said he met her in a club in la or something at one of their dj sets and we chat talk about CC live videos and stuff bc we'd both never seen them. now alice comes back out in all black and still is lookin pretty amazing [via me rolling fucking balls] and the super-scenester grabs his friends hand and just BLASTS through the crowd closer to the front and follow quickly. They open with Atlantis to Interzone. HOLY SHIT FUCKING CRYSTL CASTLZZZ. this shit was amazing. fucking blissful. amazing lights that were doing some smoke shit i've never seen before. alice is just running around this humongous stage and squeaking etc as ethan BLASTS these motha fuckin beats. fucking amazing set. my gum kept turning to mush and this shit was seriously so good i was forgetting to breathe... crimewave air war (fuck..). i remember after their last song alice goes "THANK YOUUUU! WE LOVE YOU COACHELLA!" in the highest voice ahhhhahahah it was sooooo cute. so this ends and i go outside for like 10 mintues to chill with marc and newly found maria!
 
then GHOSTLAND starts playing on the same stage CC did and they start off with piano man(sry the vid is only the intro..). i am still head over heels rolling deep and they're playing all my favorite songs off paparazzi lightning. i said VIBAAATE! there is massive amounts of fog and rainbow lazers and at his point im not wearing any shoes and just dancing like there's no end. i look at my phone and notice beirut is starting in 5 minutes so i must leave... :'(
i find marc and maria and we go to the next tent over and watch beirut. preettyyy maazinngg. there is a 7 part video of the set! 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 this was p amazing singing and dancing barefoot still ^^ "i can like.. feel the earth through my toes" oh ya! and a cute little couple told me they liked the Price of the Comsmos patch on my backpack that i got from jacklyn! so this ends and then we just kinda walk around for a while until MF PAUL MCCARTNEY starts at 10pm.
we find a nice place to sit and listen to a dj remix beatles (veryyyyy good) and then the first few opening songs by Mr. Beatle himself before I have to run off to genghis tronnn. they haven't started yet so I go watch the Presets play a few songs, this was pretty awesome stuff too, 80s vibing electro? i dunno but thats what i was feeling. then i walk over to genghis tron like right before they start.
i was suprised at the amount of ppl that were standing waiting for genghis to start, the crowd is loose and pretty spread out so i walk to the front with ease. i start chatting with this metal dude "pretty interesting crowd eh? do you think any of them have actually HEARD genghis tron?" the guy laughs and we talk some more before genghis starts up board up the house. amazing set with a few songs off dead mountain mouth, a bunch off board up the house, ride the steamboat, and they closed with arms. this was pretty much amazing and i was the only person i noticed singing along or dancing to any of it. there was a mosh pit but that was more like a joke...
 
genghis ends and we listen to some more paul mccartney as we walk through the fields, tired to death. we walk to the car and fall asleep for about an hour before the carpool ladies get there and wake us up. we wait in the parking lot for like an hour trying to get out. on the way back i see a giant coyote/wolf, it was srsly like 3 ft tall. we finally arive back in san diego at 5am.
